This study presents the Critical discourse Analysis of the poem “Dawn of freedom” by Faiz Ahmad Faiz, August 1947. The study investigates how the text lies in the application of Fairclough’s 3D model of CDA. This article provides a complete overview of this poem and it will help people to understand the message and theme of this poem. This study aimsto discuss the view of society of that time in Faiz’s” Dawn of Freedom reflect through use of textual strategies andinvestigate the ideology of poem” Dawn of Freedom” is reflected through linguistic choices as well as to analyze the broader socio-cultural and political relationship in Faiz’s” Dawn of Freedom is present through stylistic features. After analyzing this poem, the researcher came to know that the point whichFaizwanted to make his people realize was that they shouldn’t stop their struggle for freedom because this is not the promised freedom. The findings of the study are that the poem “Dawn of Freedom” is seen as a hope for oppressed people and give them an exact direction to continue their struggle. The study found that the poet’s exaggerated and persuasive speaking plays an important role in expressing his intended meanings to his audience. The study has some limitations as researchers couldn’t analyze each element of the poem because it’s very difficult to analyze it word by word. The future researchers should go for complete analysis of the poem and explore other potential areas.Downloads
